Letting Go......

Fall and winter in Maryland threw everyone for a loop this year..you know cause the world is ending and all. I, for one, love Winter. It's brisk, refreshing, clear...kind of like a really good lager. Anyway, what this fall and winter presented us was a lot of days off (cause we can't deal) not good for my classes or rehearsals, but good for chillin' with tons of wine, beer, and food at my finger tips. Usually, I am all about trying new recipes during this season, instead, I found myself making tons of comfort food. Foods that reminded me of the past or foods that simply just made me feel good. Homemade Mac n Cheese with smoked Gouda and Baked Herb de Provence Chicken with tons of garlic, onions, and potatoes. Two of my most favorites, this years were CORNBREAD STUFFING (seriously..stick my face in it) and Moroccan Chickpea Stew (the smell cinnamon and cumin will make you fall to your knees). Of course, I could not live without the CHEESECAKE this season (I talk to it like a long lost Lover..then slow savor each and every bite). In a  t way, I felt bad not going through my cookbooks or latest blogs or food website to be adventurous, but that all went away when my belly was full and happy! Sometimes reverting back to what you know is all you need to get you through. I figure I have all spring, summer and fall to try new and exciting recipes....so there EAT IT (literally)!
